Sriwijaya v Seoul 2-4

Seoul swept aside home side Sriwijaya last night in Palembang but they were nearly made to pay for their profligacy in front of goal.

Despite a jittery first half performance from Dede in the Sriwijaya goal the Koreans went in only a goal up despite all their possession and fine play.

Second half saw a goal feast but not before the home side had a couple of penalty appeals turned down. Dede was much improved second half and some vital stops kept his side in the game but not for long.

At 3-0 down all looked dead and buried for the side who won a domestic double last season and fans started piling out the stadium. But two goals in three minutes by Ngon A Djam turned the game on its head and had the early leavers looking like real dick heads.

Instead of building on their momentum Sriwijaya conceded again. It was that kind of game, end to end stuff and a credit to Asian football.

Match action can be found here while a preview of Sriwijaya's chances in the ACL can be found in my ESPN column this week.
