Persib Unbeaten in 6, Arema Winless in 6

Last nights win against Deltras was Persib's sixth unbeaten game on the run and perhaps showed the importance with sticking with the coach. After their first four games had produced three defeats Persib stuck with new coach Joyo Hartono when other clubs in similar predicaments might have reached for the axe.

Since defeat in Palembang against champions Sriwijaya Persib have played six games winning four and drawing two.

PSMS vs Persib 1 - 1
Persib vs PSIS 3 - 1
Persib vs Pelita Jaya 1 - 0
PKT vs Persib 1 - 2
Persiba vs Persib 0 - 0
Deltras vs Persib 0-2

Persib have their next three games at home, though I believe home may be Jalak Harupat Stadium in Soreang, against Persijap, Arema and Persita and certainly they should be looking at extending that impressive run.

Talking Arema, they have the opposite problem. Since surprisingly being beaten 2-1 at home by PKT Bontang they have lost five and drawn one in a meagre run which has seen five consecutive games on the road. Defeats have come at Persija, Persipura, Persiwa and Persik while their solitary point came in a 2-2 draw at Persela.

This run has coincided with the suspension of striker Emile Mbamba, banned for five years after the PKT game.

Today they play PSMS at home. Well, home is the Deltras Stadium in Sidoarjo. Then they have two more tough fixtures against Sriwijaya at home and Persib away.

Contrasting fortunes indeed for two of Indonesia's glamour clubs.
